In today’s fast-paced fulfillment environment, accuracy isn’t optional — it’s critical. As a trusted third-party logistics (3PL) partner for major fashion and apparel brands, O’Neill Logistics knows the stakes of getting every shipment right. Even a small error rate can lead to costly retailer chargebacks, lost trust, and operational slowdowns.

That’s why we took a bold step to modernize our outbound validation process: implementing RFID tunnel technology across our nationwide facilities.

The Challenge: Scaling with Accuracy

As our order volumes grew across multiple warehouses in New Jersey, Georgia, and California, we noticed a recurring issue — outbound shipping errors. Even with advanced pick-and-pack systems, mis-labeled or incorrect items from upstream manufacturers were slipping through, putting us at risk for penalties and eroding client confidence.

The Solution: RFID Tunnel Technology

To eliminate these errors and automate quality control, we partnered with CYBRA to deploy RFID tunnel systems in all three distribution centers. Unlike traditional barcode scanning, RFID tunnels allow full-carton scans without manual labor or line slowdowns.

As each carton passes through the tunnel:

  • All RFID tags inside are scanned instantly

  • The contents are matched against the order data

  • Any mismatch is flagged in real-time — no manual scanning required

This integration, paired with our Synapse WMS by Made4Net, has created a hands-free validation checkpoint that ensures order accuracy at scale.

The Results:

Since implementing RFID technology, O’Neill Logistics has achieved:

  • 100% outbound unit order accuracy

  • Fewer labor touchpoints & faster throughput

  • Zero chargebacks related to fulfillment errors

  • Higher compliance with major retailers

With these systems in place, we now process thousands of cartons daily — with complete confidence that each shipment is accurate, compliant, and ready for retail.

Why RFID Matters for Modern 3PLs

If you’re a brand or retailer relying on 3PLs to manage your supply chain, order accuracy is more than a metric — it’s a business imperative. RFID offers a proven, scalable way to:

  • Reduce mis-shipments and chargebacks

  • Improve retail replenishment accuracy

  • Lower fulfillment labor costs

  • Build trust with your retail partners

What’s Next: RFID Beyond Outbound

Encouraged by the success of outbound validation, we’re now exploring RFID applications for inbound inventory, returns processing, and real-time carton auditing — all designed to boost accuracy and efficiency across the entire logistics lifecycle.
